Nicola Slade had her first short stories published in her early twenties and wrote for children and for women's magazines for a number of years. Her first novel, Scuba Dancing, was a romantic comedy praised for its sensitivity, humour and wit. With her second novel, Murder Most Welcome, she turned to historical crime. As well as writing, Nicola helps to run her local art group. She has also been a Brown Owl and an antiques dealer.
