From School Library Journal:
Grade 2-5-- Activities and experiments that involve nature, geometric patterns, and simple chemistry. Large, colorful drawings and easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions accompany each attractive, one- or two-page presentation. These fun projects include creating mazes, musical instruments, clothespin shooters, paper weavings, Mobius strips, six-sided snowflakes, secret messages and pop-up cards, mirror-pattern prints, and much more. Little scientific explanation is provided, although each of the three main sections includes "notes for parents and teachers" that explain the science and math concepts involved. Students will need to look elsewhere for background information, such as the "Fun with Science" series, "Science Starters," "Science Projects," and "Science through Art" series (all Watts). An additional title that is best suited for public library and home collections. --Eunice Weech, M. L. King Elementary School, Urbana, IL
