REFLECTIONS OF A COUNTRY PASTOR, Meditations for the Common Person is about inquiry and choice. It creatively responds to the need and yearning, not by giving answers, but by providing tools people can use to explore their innermost assumptions on very fundamental topics, perhaps to discover new life-enhancing perspectives on them. Based in ancient monastic practice, the approach to meditation presented in this book is contemporary and holds promise for the future. It embraces changes in society and scientific discovery, and brings readers closer to the goal of spirituality while acknowledging the awesome power of worldliness. REFLECTIONS OF A COUNTRY PASTOR, Meditations for the Common Person serves as a model for personal spiritual practice in daily life.

About the Author:
A Catholic priest, the author has enjoyed a wide-ranging ministry in his forty-three years since ordination. Father Decker ministered to thousands of people from a full spectrum of socio-economic and educational levels, believers and non-believers alike. It is his personal experience that taught him that meditation is not exclusively for elite spiritual leaders, but for every person. Through his professional work in social policy and law combined with his hands-on service to people in the Haight-Ashbury of the sixties, hospice aids patients in the early eighties and dairy ranchers, their Hispanic ranch hands and their families today, the Author developed his unique approach to basic, everyday concerns and how to use them for spiritual growth.
