The waterfront community of Kingsbay, Long Island is the definition of the American Dream. Big houses down long driveways, a community swimming pool, beach and marina, and a year-round calendar of social events reflecting the best of life in America. The husbands spend their free time on weekend fishing trips and weekly poker nights. The wives come together to play bunco, over perhaps a little too much Sauvignon Blanc, and take a ‘ladies-only’ vacation to Las Vegas. On Christmas Eve, an attractive young couple moves into Kingsbay, and life in the community is altered in ways nobody could have foreseen. Moving from the idyllic shores of Long Island Sound to the romantic heart of Barcelona, BUNCO introduces a cast of alluring characters who demonstrate, in sometimes surprising ways, the strengths and failings of human nature. More than just a story of deception and revenge, the international figures we meet come to appreciate the hidden depths of their respective cultures - all too often concealed by easy assumptions and first impressions.
