For more than twenty years, readers of The New York Times have looked forward to the Science Times section every Tuesday as one of the few national forums for high-quality science writing.

Subjects covered include new discoveries in the evolution of fish; the remarkable variety of species that live at the cold, lightless bottom of the sea; the parasites and environment loss that endanger rainbow trout and other freshwater gamefish; the impact of commercial fishing on ocean foodfish populations; the monogamous habits of African cichlid species; and much more.
