A rather silly detective story in the spirit of Jasper Fforde.
Harry Pigg, the only surviving brother from the Big Bad Wolf attacks, has set up business as a private detective in Grimmtown, only things aren't going too well. Down on his luck, with bills to pay and no clients in sight the outlook is poor. But then in walks local businessman Aladdin who needs someone to help him track down an old lamp.
What follows is a case of nursery rhyme-noir. Funny, thrilling and always entertaining, Harry Pigg is an old breed of hero for a new generation. It's as if Humphrey Bogart or James Cagney had walked into the middle of a bedtime story.
A comedy caper for all ages. The first in a major new series.

A crackling detective story!
A crackling detective story!
"Harry Pigg speaking. What? You've lost your sheep? Sorry Ms. Peep, I can't really help you right now. Well, finding Aladdin's lamp is far more important than searching for stray farm animals.
Why? Well for one, he'll evict me if I don't help him and, for two, he has a very unpleasant bodyguard called Gruff who seems to want to use me as a punch bag.
Yes, I thought you'd understand. Yes, do try Red Riding Hood, she's not as good as me and can't tell the difference between a wolf and her own grandmother but I'm sure even she can manage to find a missing lamb or two. Thank you. Goodbye"
Join Harry Pigg as he struggles to find Aladdin's missing lamp before it's too late. Aided, abetted and accompanied (and lots of other words beginning with 'a') by his assistant Jack Horner, Harry enters a world of unreliable informants, mysterious strangers, incompetent villains and the world's worst leprechaun impersonator.
Harry is an old breed of hero for a new generation. Detective, sole survivor of the Three Little Pigs incident and an expert at finding trouble where none should exist, Harry's adventures on the not-so-mean streets of Grimmtown will bring a smile to young people of all ages.
