Paperback. Condition: Fair. Art Cumings (illustrator). 1st thus. "The amazing careers of the most spectacular impostor of modern times," being the story of Ferdinand Waldo Demara, Jr., who, at various times, impersonated a civil engineer, a hospital orderly, a monk of the Trappiist variety, a sheriff's deputy, an assistant prison warden, a doctor of applied psychology, a lawyer, a cancer researcher, an expert in child-care, a Benedictine monk (apparently being one of the Trappist variety wasn't satisfying enough), a naval surgeon aboard a Royal Canadian Navy destroyer, an editor, and a teacher. Basis for the movie starring Tony Curtis. 245 pages + brief author biography + one-page promotion of other Perma titles. There's a lot of wear to this one, but everything remains intact (still, a careful reading is suggested). Since this is a fairly scarce edition, it is offered primarily to fill a hole in the collection until the more expensive, in-better-condition, copy becomes available -- or to be read now so that the better-condition copy can stay right there in the collection. Size: 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Book.
